Acer × freemanii, Freeman maple or Freeman's maple, is a naturally occurring hybrid maple that is the result of a cross between Acer rubrum (red maple) and Acer saccharinum (silver maple). Wild specimens are found in eastern North America where the parent species overlap. The species is named for Oliver M. Freeman of the U.S. National Arboretum who hybridized A. rubrum with A. saccharinum in 1933. The fall foliage is a striking orange-red. It has many commercially available cultivars and is frequently used as a street tree.

I got this to be planted as a memorial tree for a friend who passed away recently. This poor little plant spent a extra week and a half getting tossed around in the postal system when it got shipped back out to another state postal distribution facility after arriving at the local postal distribution facility for delivery. Although it didn't come with handling and planting instructions upon arrival I think it will grow to be a beautiful memorial tree

I love that the tree came in a no-frills pot and was quite larger than I expected. What a great value. Can't wait to watch it grow and plant it in my backyard this spring. Thank you so much!!!
